Continuing our tradition since Jan 07 as QBM. Formerly Island Thyme Morris Men's side aka IT Not-for-joes. However ITM, a former joint side is now carried on by what was the women's side.
The Newfoundland Mummers' play makes unannounced house visits in and around St. John's during the twelve days of Christmas. This school group is directed by original Mummers Troupe member Lynn Lunde.
In winter, the Bedford Morris Men perform a traditional Plough Play. Their script comes from Branston, Leicestershire, collected by Davd Welti, a former squire of Bedford Morris and the Morris Ring.
The group performs at pubs etc around Bedfordshire during December, collections are for charity. Traditional performances on Boxing Day (outside The George, Silsoe approx 12.30pm) and on Plough Monday (Cross Key, Pulloxhill approx 9.00pm).
Cold Ash mummers were formed after mummers featured in a village play. The play's author, Richard Marshall, founded the Mummers afterwards based on the remembered fragments of the original Cold Ash play. Over the years we have developed our own distinctive style and tradition.
