Leominster Morris [Website]

Original side died out c.1914. We dance mainly Welsh Border Morris, but some Cotswold as well in Summer months. Chief play event is The Wassail on Twelfth Night, which we revived in Jan 1984. Wear our interpretation of 'cheap print jackets' from notes by E.C.Cawte describing the original kit.

A village group, performing mummers plays in and around Ashwell, Hertfordshire. Most of us live in the village and our main performance is the Christmas Play on the 2nd or 3rd Friday in January. We perform in all three pubs, the old people's residence and private houses as requested. We occasionally perform plays at other times of the year, such as Easter, and for special events in the village.

Croxley Green Mummers [Website]

Description:

Our play is still based on the traditional formula of Father Christmas introducing the event then St.George battling, in turn, with a dragon, a Turkish knight and Beelzeebub all for to save the King of Egypt`s daughter (no character, just reference to her). Jolly Jack provides the music on concertina when required and the Doctor is also on hand to bring the fallen characters back to life, St George having triumphed. Father Christmas the brings the play to a close and we all sing the Mummers Play Song.
