Disclaimer

Opinions and views expressed in items on this website are those of the individual contributors (named either as author or in the copyright declaration), and they are not necessarily those of the Master Mummers website or its webmaster.

Copyright & Preservation

The copyright of all contributions remains with the authors. Authors grant Master Mummers and its successors a licence to publish their contributions on its website and any equivalent hardcopy publications produced under the Master Mummers imprint.

Authors also give Master Mummers or its designated third parties permission to make copies for the purposes of long-term preservation, including any reformating that may be necessary to ensure continued readability.

Contributors are expected to respect other people's copyright and to obtain formal permission to reproduce copyrighted material where required by UK law. Where proven cases of copyright violation are brought to the attention of Master Mummers, the offending material will be promptly removed from the website or suitably re-credited, according to the wishes of the copyright holder.

Privacy & Data Protection

Public contact details for display in the 'Directory of Folk Play Groups' and the 'Events List' are supplied voluntarily and with the consent of the individuals concerned. These may include a person's name and one or more of email address, telephone number and postal address. Groups will be asked to review their public contact details from time to time.

Master Mummers undertakes to store all personal information securely. No personal details will be passed to third parties without permission. We will, however, forward appropriate bona fide enquiries.

Email addresses are rendered on the website using a method that makes it unlikely that they will be harvested by spammers. Personal details are not included in syndicated services such as RSS feeds.

Public contacts and notifiers for the 'Directory' and 'Events List' are normally added to the Master Mummers email list, which is used occasionally to send website news and to remind groups when to submit details of forthcoming performances. Other interested parties can also subscribe to the email list using the Subscription Form.

Notifiers' contact details are required for submissions and updates for the 'Directory' and 'Events List', but are not displayed publicly without consent. If required, they can be deleted from our private administrative records once the update has been completed. Contact details for past events over two weeks old are not displayed on the website, but are retained for potential future academic research. However, individuals may ask for their details to be deleted entirely at any time.

Individuals wishing to know what personal details we hold for them, should email peter.millington@mastermummers.org.

Personal details will be amended or removed from the website and/or our records upon request. The 'Directory' and 'Events List' submission forms can be used to amend or delete personal details. The Email Form can be used to unsubscribe from the email list. Otherwise, please email peter.millington@mastermummers.org to change your details. Removal requests are normally processed quickly, and certainly within 30 days.

In line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), new contributors will from the 25th May 2018 be invited to opt in to the email list. Contacts and subscribers registered before 25th May 2018 are being asked to reaffirm their consent for inclusion on the email list, otherwise they will automatically be deleted.

Funding

The Master Mummers website is operated on a not-for-profit basis, and the information it contains is provided free of charge. However, we may seek to defray our costs by, for instance:

  • Offering extra services at nominal cost
  • Encouraging small voluntary donations
  • Accepting appropriate paid-for non-intrusive adverts
  • Selling branded merchandise
  • etc.

We may also seek funding for special projects, to cover staff, equipment and service costs. We would be particularly interested in participating in joint bids for project funding with suitable organisations.

Termination & Preservation

In the unlikely event that the Master Mummers website is wound up, we will endeavour to pass the content to a website or organisation with similar interests and aims. The same applies to the mastermummers.org domain name.

Where possible, we will participate in acredited schemes to preserve the website's content in the long term.
