LOCAL NOTES: PLOUGH SUPPER AT LEA

"This annual event, insituted and carried on by and at
the expense of Sir C.H.J.Anderson, Bart., came off in the
school room on Monday evening last. There were between 40
and 50 guests present, being composed , as usual, of
'singers, ringers and ploughboys.' After a splendid repast
of roast beef, plum pudding, etc., the evening was spent
in a convivial manner, Mr. J.Taylor occupying the chair,
and Mr. J.Lum, the vice chair."
