PLOUGH MONDAY.: TO THE EDITOR OF THE NOTTINGHAM REVIEW
Nottingham Review,
17th Jan.1823, Vol.XV, No.759, p.2 b
A tirade against the dissipation occasioned on Plough Monday and adjacent
days by Plough Bullocks. A fairly detailed account describes them going from
door to door demanding money, which was then spent in the pubs. The "fool and
witch" accosted people in the street. Five or six parties were active in
Basford, Notts., in 1823.
