comprises Soldier/Slasher, St. George, Doctor, Prince of Saladine/Black
Morrocco King and Blackamoor. Macclesfield, Ches., is the only place
mentioned in the text.

Reproduces a previously unpublished text (73 lines) of a play from Cheshire,
performed in 1788, and found in the F.Douce Collection. The cast comprises
Soldier/Slasher, St. George, Doctor, Prince of Saladine/Black Morrocco King and
Blackamoor. By examining the text, and by comparing it with other Cheshire plays
(especially Nether Alderley) it is concluded that the play probably came from
near Macclesfield, Ches.
