Roomer, 1982, Vol.2, No.4/5, pp.23-29

Reproduces a previously unpublished text (73 lines) of a play from Cheshire, performed in 1788, and found in the F.Douce Collection. The cast comprises Soldier/Slasher, St. George, Doctor, Prince of Saladine/Black Morrocco King and Blackamoor. By examining the text, and by comparing it with other Cheshire plays (especially Nether Alderley) it is concluded that the play probably came from near Macclesfield, Ches.
